Setting up Skillset Child Items
Any item under a Skillset Category is a Child Item. In addition, Child Items can have their own Child Items. This allows you to have as many levels to your skillset tree as you need.
| 1. | Open the SKILLS tab by selecting from the menu, then clicking on the SKILLS tab. |
To Add a Skillset Child Item under a Skillset Category
| 1. | Click the button on the toolbar, the button at the bottom of the pane, or place your mouse over the skillset categories, right click, and select from the menu. |
| 2. | Select the skillset category you wish to add a skillset child item to by clicking on it. A dotted box will appear around the skillset category name. |
| 3. | Click the button or select from the menu. A <New Item> entry should appear beneath the category and it should be highlighted. |
| 4. | Type the new item name, then press the ENTER key. A dotted box will appear around the new child item. |
| 5. | If you wish to add additional child items to this category, repeat steps 2-4. |
| 6. | Click the button on the toolbar, the button at the bottom of the pane, or select from the menu. |
All users will need to exit and re-open RecruitTrack™ to have the change take effect.
To Add a Skillset Child Item under another Child Item
| 1. | Click the button on the toolbar, the button at the bottom of the pane, or place your mouse over the skillset categories, right click, and select from the menu. |
| 2. | Expand the skillset category that contains the child item you wish to modify by clicking on the next to it. |
| 3. | Click on the child item you wish to add another child item to. A dotted box should appear around it. |
| 3.1. | Alternatively you can search for the item by typing the criteria into the Search field and clicking the button. Keep clicking the button until you locate the skillset item. |
| 4. | Click the button or select from the menu. A <New Item> entry should appear beneath the child item and it should be highlighted. |
| 5. | Type the new item name, then press the ENTER key. A dotted box will appear around the new child item. |
| 6. | If you wish to add additional child items to this parent child item, repeat steps 3-5. |
| 7. | Click the button on the toolbar, the button at the bottom of the pane, or select from the menu. |
All users will need to exit and re-open RecruitTrack™ to have the change take effect.
To Edit a Current Skillset Child Item
| 1. | Click the button on the toolbar, the button at the bottom of the pane, or place your mouse over the skillset categories, right click, and select from the menu. |
| 2. | Expand the category that contains the skillset child item you wish to edit by clicking on the sign. |
| 3. | If applicable, expand the parent child item that contains the skillset child item you wish to edit by clicking on the sign. |
| 3.1. | Alternatively you can search for the child item by typing the criteria into the Search field and clicking the button. Keep clicking the button until you locate the skillset item. |
| 4. | Double-click on the skillset child item you wish to edit. A cursor should appear. |
| 5. | Modify the skillset child item. |
| 6. | Click the button on the toolbar, the button at the bottom of the pane, or select from the menu. |
All users will need to exit and re-open RecruitTrack™ to have the change take effect.
To Delete a Skillset Child Item
| 1. | Click the button on the toolbar, the button at the bottom of the pane, or place your mouse over the skillset categories, right click, and select from the menu. |
| 2. | Expand the category that contains the skillset item you wish to delete by clicking on the sign. |
| 3. | If applicable, expand the parent child item that contains the skillset child item you wish to edit by clicking on the sign. |
| 3.1. | Alternatively you can search for the item by typing the criteria into the Search field and clicking the button. Keep clicking the button until you locate the skillset item. |
| 4. | Select the skillset item you wish to delete by clicking on it once with the mouse. |
| 5. | Click the button at the bottom of the pane. |
| 6. | In the Delete Item dialog, select the button. |
| 7. | Click the button on the toolbar, the button at the bottom of the pane, or select from the menu. |
All users will need to exit and re-open RecruitTrack™ to have the change take effect.
